Thai girls disfigured by nose-job obsession

Today, I noticed a Thai girl whose face was covered by a huge sticking-plaster. If she wasn't a paranoid celebrity, then she was one of the ever-growing number of Thai girls opting to put their noses under the knife.

Nose-jobs are popular everywhere but, in Thailand, they're an obsession. Not only are Thai girls made to feel ashamed of their gorgeous brown skin (See Thai skin whitening model is a fraud). Their cute bridgeless noses are also deemed ugly and inadequate. For reasons I don't understand, Thai men prefer their girlfriends to be counterfeit farangs.

In Thailand, nose-jobs are cheap but the results aren't always pretty. Often, they implant far too much plastic. Many Thai prostitutes undergo the procedure and some end up looking like ladyboys. Whether this is good or bad for business, I couldn't say.

Personally, I hate the Pinocchio look. My next-door neighbour (See A Thai woman scorned) has what appears to be a ship's hull hanging off her face.

notice eye jobs are not too far behind, trying to look more chinese, i was told.

well, nose job is popular overhere indeed, as much as double-eyelids really.
Many Thai girls want to look more farang like with a pointed nose, many don't want to have single eyelid because they don't want to look like chinese.

This is not only in Thailand actually but also in Korea and Japan.

Ha, ha.. I know! Last time we went to Bangkok, my aunt had a nose-job. At first she looked as if she had a giant pimple on her nose, and later, it fell off and she had to be attend medical care at home. I know it's horrible, but that situation just makes me laugh (and the rest of the family as well). I guess it's just an obsession of being farang. My mum admitted, that when I was a small child, she would jerk my nose, trying to make it longer, and actually for a bit (until I got a more logical mind) I actually thought a bumbercar incident was the reason for the form of my nose. Now, I don't mind it though, most guys just think it's cute I have a small nose. :)
