Ronald Macdonald goes native in Thailand

Ronald Macdonald gives me the creeps. My mother used to warn me about strange men who dress up in colourful clothes and hang around children's playgrounds.

Today, I spotted the red-haired freak lurking outside Macdonald's in Siam Square. He was giving customers the traditional Thai gesture of greeting known as the wai. Naturally, I gave him the traditional farang gesture of hostility known as the finger.

I'm sure that if the Bangkok Post published Ronald Macdonald's home address, a lynch-mob of anxious Thai parents would soon be camped outside his door.

Well, at least he's a lot less repulsive than that bearded pervert who dresses up in suits and calls himself the kids uncle!

This guy refuses to blend with the local culture and prefers a handshake instead of the traditional wai. There's been more then one occassion when I've had to severely restrain myself from giving him a kick up his baggies.

Check out the Ronald at the McDonalds by the Night Bazaar in Chiang Mai. Definately 50 lbs. heavier than his western counterpart.
