The Cave: First fetish bar in Thailand

The Cave is Thailand's first and only fetish bar and its website makes interesting reading. Scared to go in on my own, I invited a couple of mates to accompany me.

We had to get properly kitted out first but, unfortunately, Central Chidlom was fresh out of black neoprene wetsuits with the buttocks cut out and our search for leather chaps and WW1 gasmasks proved equally fruitless. Finally, we settled for ordinary black shirts.

Suitably merry, we finally pitched up at the heavy wooden door of The Cave. A steel shutter slid back and the face of a butch Thai lesbian appeared at a tiny barred window. "Have you been here before?" she hissed "It's 900 baht to get in and the drinks are 300." Only when satisfied that we were willing victims did she open the door.

As we stepped in, a dozen sleeping bar girls in plastic dresses jumped to their feet. They weren't pretty and I couldn't see another customer. Fighting the urge to walk straight out, I let the mamasan lead the way. She seated us beside a steel cage full of bondage equipment.

As my eyes adjusted to the gloom, I became aware of movement on a black sofa in a nearby alcove. Three middle-aged German blokes were getting blown-off by a trio of Thai slappers. It was an awful sight but, like a dead dog in the street, you just had to look. One of the guys grinned at me. "They are our wives" he explained. I guess you're right. you have to be into the fetishist scene and the s&m to apreciate what they are trying to do in the cave. As for me and my wife, we thoroughly enjoyed the scene, and thought the price was not as extravagant as pegasus which is plain robbery.

The disreputable Cave was raided by Tong Lor police and the Deputy Interior Minister, and is now closed.
Good thing too in my opinion, it's well out of place in Soi 33!

However the new manager is an experienced Singaporean who many will know from successful bars around town, normally of the more specialised kind.

Expect better service, lower tabs and more good clean wholesome fun. Actually I am not taking the piss about his Singaporean background, he is in fact a great club manager and this place will eventually rock.

I've been there once and found it way over-priced.
