Whether it is valid or not should be a simple matter for you to discern. Does someone you spent time with in Thailand ask you for money? Yes|No?

If no one asks for money, then obviously it is bogus. If someone does ask for money, then it may well be genuine.

I received one such message a couple of years ago when some marriage-minded boyfriend or other caught on that his "fiance" wore a fin on her back.

The groom-to-be suggested we meet over a friendly drink to arrange a "schedule" so that we wouldn't interrupt one another's playtime. I neither responded to him, nor to the half-dozen of his friends who also e-mailed me. (Unlike here, where I seem to respond to any retromingent* with access to a keyboard and at least one finger).

Come to find out the rankled gentleman had later hired someone to track me down (a "Stickman" type, I imagine), also presumably to congratulate me in person on my good taste. I would have been easy prey, even for the laziest P.I., since I had been at the J.W. for about three months straight. Fortunately, I was on an extended trip to the Pearl River Delta by then so I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Hope springs eternal, however, for a glamorous death in Bangkok -- perhaps in a hail of bullets sprayed from a shiny new moped. That would be better than dying of old age at a desk in Farangland.

Well now I had everyones password.

TGF went bananas trying to establish who the grass was. Steve I understand was less than pleased as I had stopped the standing order and Aom was therefore skint as was he. I got various reports from mates that Aom and Lat "make big boxing" and an English mate called to say that his wife had told him that young Steve was heading back to Falang land after Aom got the idea ( from me ) that Steve told me all. It seems Aom went for him with a razor whilst ejecting him.

A previous poster recommended hiring someone to crack the password. This in my view is completely unnecessary. Lats password was ( and as I just checked ) still is 55555555 Aoms was and still is 12345678. There seems to be little variation, eight characters long something simple, trial and error will get you most Thai girls passwords.

I have been guilty of breaking into a Thai girl's email box and reading the umpteen emails from unknowing/trusting Scandanavians, Yanks, Germans, Italians, Australians and Brits. I also sent an email (from her address) to one of the guys (the one who was being asked for money), with the password to the account, although we all know the damage that Thai girls can cause is not only monetary. I only hope that the guy took my advice, looked at the hotmail account and woke up...

Some of these girls have multiple guys sending them money every month and are living pop star lifestyles. Most of them have thai husbands who sit around all day and do fuck all apart from drink your money away.

Do you really want to send £300 a month just to keep the lazy deadbeat who is shagging kuk every night in songsam, yaba and singha?

This can only end in tears. Every week there are guys falling from high rise balconies in Pattaya, penniless after their sweet, innocent tirak milked them for every penny.

If you are an unskilled worker you are lucky to get B5-6K a month, e.g. as a building labourer or a factory worker. You are sending her what an entire working family would be bringing home.

As a reality check, why don't you ask her what her brother, the factory worker, gets paid?

As for the extras, she's really taking the piss.

I have to ask you all for advice. I have meet a beautiful thaigirl in thailand 4 weeks ago. I meet her in Patong and i think that she is working as a "bar girl". We are talking with each other all the time and i'm starting to get feelings for her. She asked me for money, because she was sick and had to go to the doctor. I said no!

I didn’t find out much as I didn’t want to give the game away but he was full of pleasantries for my girlfriend and said he could not wait to meet her, afterwards I wondered what would happen if I pretended to join dating agencies as my girlfriend, just to see what kind of reaction Thai women have over the web with men from abroad.
So I opened up a new hotmail account and an msn messenger in her name but known only to me to see what would happen as now I was curious.
Well I was surprised to find that many men after brief chats were telling her or me all sorts of things and some even wanted to get it on through the web-cam.
What surprised me even more that some men were willing to pay for tickets for her/me to travel to their destinations when they arrived in Thailand? So of course I thought if they were willing to do that what else could I get.
It surprised me even more that although only small amounts such as 2000 or 4000 baht, they would send it to help with rent or shopping etc. So this went on for about 6 months amassing 80000 baht from different men on different sites, you also had to get the money quickly after establishing a rapport because if you keep denying web-cam then they obviously get suspicious however having a letter sent from you to them and vice versa reinforces the amount of time you can get away with not having a web cam.
This is not an infallible system I think I was a good talker, told them what they wanted to hear agreed with them on many things but more importantly you must have access to the web and also use the web a fair amount. You can get on with what you are working on etc as well as having these guys in the background.

So here is how it was done…………………..

1. Know your girlfriend very well I suggest going out time at least 6 months.
2. Open your girlfriend a new hotmail account and an msn messenger account.
3. Put your girlfriends previous pictures from a few years ago on various dating sites, fill out the form making sure you place the area you are in Thailand clearly so it can be seen by all members then leave it for a few weeks. I.e. most men who are going to Thailand usually look for a girl over the web in the area which they will be.
4. Come back and check all your messages and reply to the most suitable.
5. Get online and know what you can say when asked questions, KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT this is why I say its good to know your girlfriend because you can mix lies with half truths.
6. For example, try and tell them something about the part of Thailand you are in or that they may know, Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, etc.
7 Know your girlfriends bank account details.
8. Have an address where u can pick up mail near your area which is the same as the dating forms. I.e. Bangkok, Pattaya.
9. Never have a web-cam….obviously.
10. Ask them when they are coming and say you will meet them, if they
are not coming to Thailand within 2 months forget it, it won’t work.
11. Even give them a hotel contact which is near your area.
12. Before they come ask them for money for something until they get there, this doesn’t work always of course but the law of averages states the more you ask the more likely you are to receive.
13. Once they send money keep in contact and when they arrive in Thailand leave the site.
14. Most guys are too embarrassed to say anything but really what can they do.
15. Even if a guy does go to the police, if the money was sent voluntarily there is not much they can do about it.
16. If your girlfriend asks about the money say your friend sent it or something to that effect, I actually told my girlfriend it was from friends of friends who needed it quickly and my account here in Thailand had closed but she believed it.

I didn’t plan to do this it just kind of happened but I have to say I learned some very interesting things and some things I was told I still cannot believe.

Does anyone know if Thai girls' hotmail passwords are in English or Thai alphabet?
Or can they choose? And does anyone know a hotmail password hacking service in Thailand they can recommmend? I'm assuming guessing the password will be difficult because it could be anything but do they tend to use alphabetical letters only, or numbers only, or a mixture of letters and numbers? Are the most common pw's parts of addresses, birthdays, phone numbers, etc and once again do they have to type the password in Thai letters or use the English alphabet?

Joe, subject to anybody correcting me here, I don't think they can use thai characters for their passwords. In any case, in my experience, Thai chicks aren't that sophisticated. Its most likely their birthday or something similar. A word of advice however, do you REALLY want to hack her email. Everytime i've done something like that I've regretted it. Ignorance is bliss. Just enjoy.
