Katoey toilet terror in Nana Plaza

A couple of ill-advised Soi 4 chicken skewers gave Combover the splats but Nana Plaza isn't the best place to get caught short with a runny bottom.

Leaving no broken lock unturned, our impromptu "mystery shopper" lifted every urine-splashed seat in Nana Plaza's paperless pissoirs to bring us his revealing report.

You'd expect third-world thunder-boxes to be a bit rough but Nana Plaza's dingy dunnies harbour more than just cockroaches.

There always seems to be a gigantic katoey lurking in there doing her make up or taping her tackle.

One he'd shaken off the katoeys, however, things started to look up. As is often the case in Thailand, the friendly locals were quick to offer a helping hand.

An honourable mention goes to Erotica where one of the dancers did a lightning quick lap of the room collecting tissue paper from her colleagues.

After the bog-trotting equivalent of Chairman Mao's Long March, Combover eventually found satisfaction.

I highly recommend the immaculate restrooms of Mercury bar. Spotlessly clean, plenty of paper, squirty hose, clean towels by the sink and - the tour de force - a tiny spirit house with a candle in it in each trap.

I shall be making special trips there in future.

Now the secret is out, they'll probably be a queue.
