Farang lesbian lust in Thailand

Sitting in a Thai go-go bar, you might have noticed unaccompanied farang girls lurking in dark corners. With few places of their own to go to, farang lesbians often visit mainstream girlie-bars in Patpong and Nana Plaza. They always get a warm welcome.

So what are they doing there? Exactly the same as the guys, of course - but they probably don't see it that way. I've yet to hear any woman admit to being a sex-tourist. No doubt, they give their needy Thai sistahs cash gifts rather than payment for sexual services.

Many go-go dancers are lipstick lesbians and openly bisexual. Some come in pairs. Every go-go bar has at least one butch waitress. Despite being outnumbered by guys 20:1, muff-munching farang girls just can't keep away. Read on to learn more about the experiences of real-life lesbians in Bangkok.

In August, Farang Magazine published an interesting article by Lara Woodland, a young lesbian writer who visited Supergirls go-go bar in Patpong with her friend Kate. Their experience sounds very familiar:

I wanted one of the girls onstage - the short-haired one who was unusually buxom for a Thai woman and, digging herself in the mirror as she danced, not giving a shit about the customers, knowing she was hot.

Just like everyone who visits these bars, the girls were surprised at the lack of hard-core sleaze:

Maybe it was the margaritas, but I liked these women, felt they were my sisters; the whole thing seemed like good fun, almost good clean fun, and not really sleazy at all.

Like many first-timers, they made the classic blunder of taking to the stage themselves (See Make a tit of yourself in a Thai go-go bar).

We grabbed each other's hips and did a mock-grinding thing. Somehow she was topless already, and somehow I joined her, as Dee threw my tank top, then my bra, at Kate, whose mouth was open so wide in disbelief she could have swallowed them both. Dee ran her hands quickly over my chest, so fast I felt only surprise.

They even fell for the old ring scam:

Dee held Kate's hand and played with her rings. Soon Kate's silver ring was on Dee's hand and Dee was asking if she could keep it. A little smitten and overly polite, Kate answered yes, but immediately regretted it when Dee got up to flirt with a hook-nosed German. "What have I done?" she wailed. "You've joined the ranks of farangs who have been fleeced by Thai women," I said.

Having thoroughly enjoyed themselves, our lesbian superheroes soon became judgemental:

Those sistahs had a good time that night, and so did we.

Kate returned two weeks later and said her second visit was "far more tragic," with older men fondling the bar girls openly.

The article implies that lesbians who cavort with bar girls are fun-loving but men doing exactly the same thing are tragic and sleazy. Perhaps some sistah could explain the supporting argument to me.

Some lesbians might begrudge us fellas our fun but I've no desire to piss on their parade. If they come to Bangkok looking for a good time, I hope they find it. I enjoy the company of farang girls but many can't leave Thailand quickly enough (See Why do farang girls hate Thailand?). It's only the lesbians that seem to thrive.

You're certainly dead on about the hypocrisy of that article. Strange how the bargirls only do it for money with the men but "sistahs had a good time that night" when the lesbians come out.

Strange too that a woman makes it very clear she's not interested, but gets cast in the role of "She seemed like a San Francisco dyke; surely she didn't like boys" BECAUSE she snubbed her...

I hate bi girls with a passion but to the point where I just avoid them like a plague more so than your typical white girl. Regardless or race all western bi women are really lesbians gone insane, they prefer only the creme de'le creme men like all women but since they're not available they live strictly girl chasing lives.. Thai lesbians are in a tom-dee system. Those who aren't are outcast. Since you seem like probably a dee yourself, and the dancing girls were most likely dees, I doubt if they had any real intention with you except to get in your pockets.
