CoolThaiHouse.com launches blog

The creator of Thailand's top website for farang home builders has now launched his own blog - making CoolThaiHouse.com a more interesting read than ever (See CoolThaiHouse.com: Building a house in Thailand).

Dozer explores topics as diverse as poisoning soi dogs, the trustworthiness of farang "legal advisers" and why paint tins should be stored upside down. He also answers readers' questions.

Dozer is currently looking for another plot of land in Pattaya. When his next house building project gets underway, CoolThaiHouse readers will enjoy regular updates from the jobsite.

If you're dreaming of setting up home in Thailand, Dozer's contagious enthusiasm could have you reaching for your hardhat.

Welcome back, David! Even if it's just to share a cup of coffee with us before returning to your other endeavors, we are pleased to hear from you.

While I dream of a house in Pattaya, my plans for the future are taking shape slowly. My business, which did not do well during the recent recession here in the US, is now picking up. This allows, if not the return of hedonistic spending as yet, the return of dreams.

There are not too many places left in Pattaya where you could build a house anywhere near the beach. However, during my last visit to Pattaya, I stayed in a condo in the section called "Pratamnak", and saw some open land there.

If your friend knows Pattaya, Pratamnak is actually slightly north of where I saw the land. Turning off the Thappraya Road opposite Sugar Hut Resort, you are on the Pratamnak Road. The section most people know as Pratamnak (or "Buddha Hill" to the farangs) is the section that you come to as you proceed straight up the hill.

To find the open land, make your second left off the Pratamnak Road, and follow that south for about a mile. That section, behind Pattaya Park, is also part of Pratamnak, and has a fair amount of open space. Your friend might possibly find a lot for sale there.

Again, nice to hear from you. Hope you can stay for a spell.

Yay, David is back!!! I kept checking and checking Mango Sauce and after 3 months its finally paid off.

What would it take to get you writing again? This is the only blog I've ever been interested in reading, and I'd love to be able to get regular fixes again... Cheap bastard that I am I'd even consider sending some cash (or promising to buy you as much beer as you can drink if I'm ever in LOS again).
