Rough treatment for Thailand sex-tourists

Rough treatment for Thailand sex-tourists

Thailand is a popular sex-tourist destination but politically-correct guidebooks, such as The Rough Guide, offer somewhat biased advice. According to them, gay sex-tourism is perfectly ok but a straight bloke doing exactly the same thing is a lecherous punter. Here's a quote from Thailand: The Rough Guide which illustrates where they are coming from:

Thailand's gay scene: Expensive international-style places are becoming very popular in Bangkok. These places attract a contingent of Thais seeking foreign sugar daddies. They aren't prostitutes but lads kept in luxuries, holidays and designer labels by one or several regular cheques from abroad.

To me, this seems indistinguishable from the straight scene. The book's gay contributors probably spend their evenings paying for sex with Thai men but they don't have the guts to admit that this equates to prostitution.

Naturally, the same book pours scorn on the sexploits of straight men.

The rough guide to a bit of rough.

Too right, total double standards there from the tooty fruity literati luvvy community.

Dear Mongers,

It is true for most of the guidebooks I've read.

They are definately edited by FemiNazis, Gays or SNAGs (Sensitive New Age Guys).
They parrot disproven myths such as bar girls and massage parlor ladies being unwilling slaves. They proudly advise what clubs and saunas Gays can cruise for sex.
What else do Gays go to clubs for ?

BTW, Lesbians tourists do the same thing, picking up willing female companions and giving
them "cash" gifts in payment. Too bad condemning Gay sexual behavior is not PC.

Too bad these books are the only thing the general public reads for information on
Thailand.
I've gotten better and more current unbiased information by reading mangosauce, dexterhorn.com and Stickman.

Great post!

And thank you for pointing out the denial of reality.
"They not prostitutes": Hah!

Pattaya doesn't exist - according to the Looney Planet guide, they simply left it off their map of Thailand! Yep, wishing makes it so.

Very useful - I read Looney Planet, then turn and go 180-degrees in the opposite direction. Had a lot of fun in Pattaya.

[refreshing an old post, sorry if that's a problem for you]

I think gays are disgusting. Against nature, so to say. Of course I think that way, because I'm educated to think so. But 'unfortunately', 2 of my best friends are gay. But they are no idiots, and even educated and polite. The problem is that once you are shew-shew'ed in a corner, you start biting. That's what gays do. Just like the Jews... And the Arabs... And the Black people, and, and, and......

My point is that if everybody could just feel well in his/her skin, there would be no point to aggress others.

And that is not asked too much I think.

Besides, I'm white, catholic, have a job & GF (to top it, she's Thai), I'm the perfect guy to go with the 'stream'. But somehow I feel that I should sustain the minorities, because it will always be possible to put me in a minority group too.

Just a thoughtÖ

Thanks, Mike.

Lets just back up here Mike. When you say disgusting do you mean loathsome or more than irritating?

Speaking from personal experience the less i know about a persons sexual congress the easier it is to lick the rizlas and keep things on an even keel.

Apart from the occasional braggardly and superficial bar banter, of ritualised male conquest anecdotes. I'd rather not know if a tried and trusted chum were to be engaging in, sex a la anal, with a person of the same chromosal arrangement. Taint my business squire, but feel free to keep your paradoxically educated views rolling.
