Vanessa-Mae Vanakorn Nicholson

Vanessa-Mae Vanakorn Nicholson

Once a child prodigy likened to Mozart, sexy violinist Vanessa-Mae, 25, has taken the world of classical music by storm. Vanessa-Mae Vanakorn Nicholson was born in Singapore to a Chinese mother and Thai father but moved to Britain with her mother at the age of 4.

She attended the Royal College of Music in London and, by 13, had already toured with the London Mozart Players. Her first album The Violin Player, released in 1995, went multi-platinum - blurring the lines between classical music and pop.

Vanessa now tours the world and has won numerous awards. Memorably, she performed at the Hong Kong China Re-Unification Ceremony.

As if all this weren't enough, she also wants to represent Thailand as a downhill skier but, to do so, she would have to become Thai and give up her British passport. I can't see this happening, though. Anyone with a Thai girlfriend will understand only too well the hassles of international travel with a Thai passport. If sexy Vanessa claimed to be a violinist, sceptical immigration officials would piss themselves laughing.

Now there's a girl who could pluck and fiddle with me anytime!

mr peter says:

One of my biggest regrets is that I did not go to see her on the red hot tour in '95-the thai GF did not want me to go. The GF pissed off as soon as she came into some money and I finally got to see VM the next year, but that tour was pretty poor, her mum was on the piano, the orchestra did not get work visas and to top it all off no mini skirt!-peter

Sir Sanuk says:

Personally, I'd like to see her G-string...

She is great from the waste up, but I remember seeing a little bit of her lower body in something that led one to believe that it was not all that great. It was definitely not in line with the more slender upper-half. Although, she is gorgeous and an incredible musician even though I do not listent o music of any sort.

Bagwan says:

I attended a concert at the Festival Hall in which this fabulous lady was the soloist in a rendition of the Mendelsohn concerto. Her interpretation was romantic and to watch this young girl (then about 17 I think) was a privilege. Many in the audience were so touched, spell bound even, that many were moved to tears. The applause at completion was long and tumultuous. Something that I will never forget.

Sorry if this post appears a little upmarket from the usual and offends any real or potential Millwall supporters.

Mr Idiot says:

But I hear she's a little highly strung
