Nakadia: Thai superstar DJ & nude model

nakadia

Busty Korat babe Nakadia, 24, is Thailand's top DJ but you won't find her turning the wheels of steel in Bangkok.

She's got the dark-skinned rice-farmer's daughter look that Thai men hate so she's a superstar in almost every country in the world except Thailand. Western fellas go bonkers for her exotic face, big knockers and endless legs so it's hardly surprising that she opted to 'go Inter.'

Like most chicks from the sticks, Nakadia's life hasn't been easy. After finishing high school, she did various crappy jobs in factories before ending up working in an Internet caf?. There, she met an unnamed French photographer via webcam and "eventually made it to France for some fashion shoots."

I'll direct you to one of her early photo-sessions in a moment but 'fashion shoot' isn't quite the expression I'd have chosen.

Her official bio obviously leaves a lot out but you don't need much imagination to join the dots. Classy CM2 girls often do quite well but the delightful Nakadia has gone further than most.

She learnt her trade from a book with the rather apt title of 'Bedroom DJ' but fellow superstar DJs are snobbishly dismissive of her talents. Apparently, during sets, Nakadia fraternises with the audience far too much and 'scratches' the vinyl far too little for their liking. Her reviews are, at best, mixed but she certainly raises my BPM.

Enough waffle. These are the bongo pics you were promised (NOT work-safe):

And some nice ones:

www.nakadia.com

Nakadia, you can be my personal 'Bedroom DJ' anytime you like. After my bad experience with Tata Young, I've come to realise that Thai superstars expect a bit of pampering before they put-out so I'll wack a few Beer Changs in the fridge first - or Leo, if you prefer.

sebastian says:

Yes, nakadia has made sexy pictures at the start of her career. Sexy pictures that everybody can enjoy. Not more than that, and she is not shy about it. You can read that in an upcoming article also in Bangkoks Metro magazine, June edition (the sexiest moments in music history).

However, you should get your facts straight when it comes to nakadias DJ qualities. Its not the fellow top DJs that criticize her, its the ones who cant get their feet on the gound themselves. Big names in the industry are full of praise and respect for this girl that has made it out of nowhere only with the help of a book. Her success comes from beeing an absolutely talented and extremely hard working DJ as well as a wonderfull person.

Todd terry says:

"Western fellas go bonkers for her exotic face" ??? unless you have a better pic, she looks like a dark-skinned rice-farmer's daughter with buck teeth. umm, i think thats a look men universally hate.

ts says:

David, you are usually pretty spot on in your humour im guessing you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to music.

Say what you want about her appearance, roots and how she ended up where she is, but the simple fact is the girl works hard and she can spin.

She is also the first to admit she started out as a gimmck but worked/works hard to develop her skills. she also produces music.

not bad for big knockers and endless legs.

As for the pics, fair enough, but they are not all there is to the woman.

bif says:

There are at least two reasons I wouldn't kick her outa bed... but, guys, to seriously describe a goddam DJ as "talented" is an assault on the English language. Inflation doesn't only apply to currencies, you may be interested to contemplate for the first time in your wretched and devalued lives.

Me, I'm heading back to her wank pix.

bj says:

i'd like to see her scratching to the beat. when is she coming to neasden university (formerly poly)? i'd loik ta see her Nakid-ere.

Dana says:

I have to say it all looks like a monument to excess and fluff and stupidity and marketing. Absolutely no idea what she does and I bet I wouldn't be able to figure it out if she told me. People growing things in Essan are making a contribution. She is a zero. Whoever is in charge of her knows what he/she is doing however; the improvement from the www.janet23 photos is astonishing. Worst photos I have ever seen.

bigjohnson says:

"Her" face looks like a dude, dude. Nice hooters though.

chris says:

ive meet this women, she actually a lovely girl, but in fact not a great dj,she certainly dosent look like a rice farmer lol.

moss says:

It's nice to see Thailand represented in the theater of dance halls, spin-masters, and cheesy, superficial glitz. Don't really feel like I'm missing anything, but she does look better than most other western female "celebrities" do, even when they're trying.

JJ says:

I tend to agree with Todd that she does not look very good at all. Why is it that the ideal woman is dirt poor, stupid and brown? Give me a milky-white, well educated and rich Chinese-looking girl any day! Then Dana and the rest of you can go salivating after the greedy and stupid rice farmers daughters. (Sorry Dana, I know you are an intelligent person, but sometimes I fail to see your logic, but I guess that just makes me the loser. Oh well, I can accept that...)

sniffer says:

There are lots of incompetent, ugly Djs around so one who looks half-decent is to be welcomed even if she mixes like she's wearing boxing gloves. The comments by her about herself on her site are quite endearing

ps "Absolutely no idea what she does and I bet I wouldn't be able to figure it out if she told me"
Nice one, Dana; admitting to a serious mental impairment.

Jaques Pervert says:

Er... JJ... I bet if all the "milky-white chinese girls" happened to be the ones from a poor farmers' background, you'd be singing the praises of "brown" women, and banging on about how ugly and "stupid" the "white" girls are... Equating white skin with beauty, now that's something I'll never understand, as most Thai girls after slapping on the whitening cream for years look pallid and, quite frankly, unwell.

tracy emin says:

i've listened to her mixing and she not bad at the djaying. nothing to set the heather on fire and not my taste in tunes, but she can match beats, fades competently and understands flow. nothing innovative, but that's not the market she's selling to.

and so what if she learned her craft from a book - lot's of musicians follow this route (bert weedon's "play in a day", anyone?)

i agree her photoshoot is dire. not enough "interaction" with the other model, if you get my drift ;) i like messy fingered lesbo pr0n.

Dana says:

Re: Serious mental impairment--Let me see if I understand this: lyricists and writers and producers and mixers and recorders and DIMI people and musicians with talent and drive manage to produce a work of art that has never existed before and it is supposed to augment that effort to have some no talent 'spin' the record? And if that bozo 'spins' more than one record in a set amount of time they are now 'mixing'? What's next hipsters--is some jerk in dreadlocks going to 'spin' the Pieta by Michaelangelo and 'mix' the paintings of Picasso's blue period? I've got a crazy mentally impaired idea. Why don't you leave the artists and the works of art alone.

JJ says:

Er... Jaques...

There are two different issues here of course: One is about beauty, and I maintain that to me, the pale skin coupled with the dark hair and eyes is a winner, regardless of background and wealth.

The second issue is who I would want as my long term (not long time!) girlfriend and soulmate, and there absolute beauty takes second stage (or position? English is not my first language). But then traits like education, language, earning power, wit, honesty and many other things take on more meaning.

Some of these "LBFMs" (horrible expression btw) might have "a good heart" and be "fun to be with", but for how long...?

All the best
JJ

tracy emin says:

dana: you're sounding like the square dad in a 50s movie. so get down with the kids and stop harshing our mellow, daddy-o.

try to think of djaying as 'audio collage' and more than playing records one after the other. does that work for you?

Sniffer says:

Hi Dana! I think too much exposure to the music played in Angels disco at the Nana Hotel has left you with a somewhat jaundiced view of the DJ's art.

Dana says:

Welcome to Oxymoron Land. The DJ's art? Next you'll be telling me you work for military intelligence. I could go on but heh I've got a pile of CD's here in my old man's apartment and tonight I am going to have a hip hop happening down home crib shakin' totally awesome knarly time spinning and mixing. For those of you who do not have your groove thing going like I do that means I am going to get totally centered and zened out baby by playing some records and listening to them.

bif says:

Any of you hemorrhoids who go on about DJ "art" and "talent" play any instruments? No?

I've been playing guitar and soloing and writing songs for a very long time. Rock, blues, country and swing. I play every day for several hours. But that's nothing: I just hope that some day I can learn to "match beats, fade competently and understand flow." THAT will be an accomplishment and I'll be able to die happy.

By the way, I laugh at some of the guys taking shots at Dana. Kinda like watching Woody Allen stepping into the ring against Mike Tyson...

Andy says:

When I was a lad, a "DJ" was someone like Tony Blackburn or Dave Lee Travis, who spouted facile crap on Radio 1 between playing inoffensive Top Ten pop records.
Seemingly, the modern interpretation of a "DJ" is someone who gets credited as a genius for "mixing" other people's records in front of a crowd of drug-addled dummies who pay 5 quid for a Lucozade.
Big upgrade there then...
Nakadia looks like a farmer's daughter, but best of luck to her for making it big.
Although to be honest, I couldn't care less if she can "scratch" her own arse or not.

sebby says:

anyone who is interested to see nakadia as a DJ instead of a model can see her in a little video from her tour :

www.cintyevents.tv/nakadia

but in 6 weeks the whole world can see nakadia live on TV as an estimated 4 billion people wil watch the show she is about to play.

So far so good...

Sebby

sniffer says:

From Bif: first; "I laugh at some of the guys taking shots at Dana." And then; "I've been playing guitar and soloing and writing songs for a very long time. Rock, blues, country and swing. I play every day for several hours"
Nice of you to present an alternative and even easier target, chum.
I'm sure the girls love your sleeveless denim jacket, your mullet and your monobrow. It's a shame none of them will ever get see the "Clapton is God" poster on the bedroom wall of the trailer you share with your mom

bif says:

Hey Sniffer,

Thanks for the yuks - I haven't had such a good laugh since the hogs ate my brother.

But you encourage me to move outa that trailer: so many nights after my shift at the abattoir I can't even get in to grab my Sears 6-string 'cause mom's got a customer.

Guess I could move back in with my sister but her current live-in is kinda jealous...

Could I hang with you? "Bif 'n' Sniff" could probably tear up Pattaya real good. Get ourselves some spankin' Nakadias of our own. Yeehaw!!!

BTW, how'd you know about my monobrow?

Bangkokram says:

She is very dark, but at the end of the day a natural dark colour. Not one like some of the girls walking round Siam Square whose deathly whiteness can only come from extreme daily use of two gallon of domestos on their skin. Nakadia's natural beauty should be praised.
As to her DJing skills, there lost on me, I stopped listening to DJ's when they stopped playing "Careless Whisper" at the end of an evening.

hentaigaijin says:

If she's into Terry Francis, she's welcome to suck my cock.

frankie says:

DJs are essestially people who are too lazy or untalented to learn a real instrument. Even a retarded person can mix 2 LPs spinning at the same time or scratch. The whole hype of the DJ persona is indicitive of the banal, talentless and superficial state of modern music with today's generation. A true musician and artist does not live for the aforementioned qualities found in music and DJing today. That would be an insult to the art of music. Show me a DJ with any real musical talent and I'll show you a person with cerebral palsy whose a superstar DJ.

Jack says:

Sebby, 4 billion people sounds a bit much? Even if she plays at half time in the World Cup final she'll only reach about 2 billion at most.

sniffer says:

Mr Frankie, you're a man after my own heart "The whole hype of the DJ persona is indicitive of the banal, talentless and superficial state of modern music with today's generation"
You use a lot of posh words but I reckon you're right; national service; that's what these young tearaways need. I remember the days when I was able to get a week's supply of coal delivered, buy 6lb of tripe, take my my Mabel jitterbugging down at the Empire and still have change left from a farthing. And we all stood for the national anthem at the end of good night at the moving picture palace

Errant says:

In the interest of inter-textual experimentation, a post in the form of word collage, spun, as it were, from the filaments of an electric imagination:

Striking segues into
What preceded
Seamless sensation, timeless urge (depending on local ordinances)
Could you say that again I wasn’t listening [insert random microfiche images]

Compelling, isn’t it? It needs some work to gain an audience of millions, and my middle-age man-boobs have a way to go before reaching our lady’s proportions, but it has a certain something.

sebby says:

@ hentaigaijin

You are obviously from another generation. A few years ago people though the same thing about the beatles and my parents believe that any kind of pop music has nothing to do with skills or art. Its a generational thing I guess. Anyway - DJing is much more than beatmatching two records at the same speed. The art of DJing is to choose the right tune for that certain moment. The biggest difference between a DJ and a musician in a band is that the DJ has to create the right sound for the atmosphere and situation and no set should be played twice in the same way. The band musician will play the same songs over and over again - so where is the art in that ? This is a huge difference and sure - only DJs who are talented and musically inspiring can create a great atmosphere at different places in the world for different people with different musical understanding. That is what the real art of DJing is about.

@ frankie

I doubt that the half time of the world cup final would be broadcasted. But we dont have to fight over a billion or two - lets say 3 billion people will see Nakadia, and even if it would be only 2 billion. Still the biggest marketing push a Thai person has ever achieved. And with this in mind we hope to finally start a discussion in the thai media about the discrimination of the black population. Its about time ! A black girl will show what is possible in this world and that nobody has to be shy or hide because of his or her skin colour.

KB says:

IN some scenes like DnB the DJs are also the producers; e.g. high contrast, Goldie, Reprazent; these guys are talented at spinning a storm and play a ton of their own mixes and creations.

To spin someone else's stuff is much like being a coverband; i.e. pretty much talent not required. The turntablist bit; the scratching and so on is tougher, but then again most of the big name DJs are spinning trance/house/crap like this one.

Debate about dark skin vs. light skin? You having a laugh? 1. She isn't black. 2. She is famous in a very fairly minority interest field 3. Her way of getting there is ok skills, big fake boobs and nudity - just the sort of image we want for Thailand

There are plenty of talented Thai DJs who are equally ignored; Thai sports people who aren't known and so on. The reason she isn't that famous is because most Thai people couldn't care less about who plays someone else's music at some dodgy club full of drooling white guys; her results would be almost exactly the same if she looked like Tata Young. Singing, soccer, olympics and beauty pagaents are the way for fame around here, that's how it is. Not dark vs. white, but popular vs. niche. Kao jai bo?

Jim says:

Went to the movie theater the other night. I don't know who they had in the projection room, but they are a great talent. They mixed in the commercials, homage to the king and the movie fantastically. They are a true artist. I could not even tell where one clip ended and the other ended. You should only hope that the projectionist comes to your town on his/her next world tour.

Isaac says:

Check out The Invisible Skratch Picklz or listen to Terminator X's work with Public Enemy. Yes, a lot of DJ's are just playing records, but some are truly creating art. Only 12 notes in music, but what new arrangement can a guitarist create? Same with a stellar DJ, taking previously used sounds and rearranging them to create something new.

georgie7 says:

yes she looks a lot like my dad. quite hot

"Western fellas go bonkers for her exotic face" ??? unless you have a better pic, she looks like a dark-skinned rice-farmer's daughter with buck teeth. umm, i think thats a look men universally hate."

DANIEL says:

guys guys guys....you find this girl attractive sure she is attractive
she has that issan ho look.
definatly not my type.
shes still better that many farangs though.
i very surprised she can work a turntable, many poor small village issan girls have'nt even seen a turntable let alone know what you can do with it. however a vcd player is completly different story...they seem to go hand in hand with the multi-purpose kitchen cleaver...ie the vcd player can be used as a chopping board.
so anytime now nakadia's turntable could be chopping off the cloven hoofs of that poor issan pig you saw being abused by the leo beer crew.

Jeab says:

I am Thai and I don't know her... I know Tata Young, temperature rising.......

It's funny to read what farang thinks about women here and about this girl

Ernesto Ortega says:

she is a pretty woman, they
just have to get a better photo
of her. her looks are just fine
with me. she is a pretty dj

Matt says:

I only just read this. She is generally only criticised by Thais who seem to look down on her for the colour of her skin. Her DJ sets have improved a lot recently, especially after a lengthy Euro tour. She hates the fact that people think of her because of how she looks, although as she well knows the way she looks is why she has achieved so much success.

She is an interesting character, and whilst she lacks the historical knowledge of music to really be a world class DJ, she is doing very well for herself and I have a lot of respect for where she is today.

But as you said, she is famous and revered almost everywhere except here.

Matt says:

I think some of you have really showed your age here.

r kellis says:

i saw her once in some club n how her spin the music is great. she made the party alot more fun n for her look she is also beautiful in a person too.

Anonymous says:

From her inteview she says she isn't a welknown DJ in Thailand because of her look. She complains that Thai prefer "Farang" (white) look, not Iisaan look. But why she must have nose and boobs surgery !?! She isn't proud to have ordinary Iisaan look !?! I dun like her comment about her homeland!

Robert says:

I dont care or understant why all you guys can say this ,,,,[Im talking about the bad stuff}, about this woman ,do you call her at home or know her personly, or her boy friend????,, then why say bad about her,,,,,me my self,, i would love to have her in my bed and not just to fuck but to know her

0zz1 says:

Its been fun to read this forum :) Its probably as im still under 40 I can understand the art of dj'ing.

For all You grannies who think dj is not artist. What do You call film editors, who put the film together. They have not filmed it, they have not directed it, but it would surely look like shit without their work? Are they artist? What about graphic designers? Or well... there are a lot of bad djs in this world and heck of a lot in Thailand, but Nakadia is not one of them... and yes the looks helps... same as any musician..
