Is AdBrite Mango's WhiteNite?

SL posted this rather intriguing comment:

I got banned from AdSense but I found AdBrite.com. AdBrite is making me more money than AdSense did so I am in a way kind of happy that they banned me :)

If this remarkable achievement is repeatable, Mango Sauce could rise up from the muddy rice fields of obscurity to reclaim its rightful place on the chromium pole of the world stage - and, unlike Google, AdBrite doesn't give a damn if I'm "showing."

It's the advertisers who decide.

If the scheme works, you won't have to buy me a cola either. I'm not interested in charging subscriptions.

Some kindly readers have offered to stuff a hundred baht note down my knickers but I'm not really that kind of boy (unless you've got a thousand).

I for one would support your blog with a contribution every month. With 100,000 readers, it shouldn't take much to keep it running, even if only 10% of us contribute - BW.

BW's heart is certainly in the right place but sick buffaloes don't heal themselves:

Thanks for sharing your idea with me but selling ad space is definitely more lucrative than online begging.

I know a couple of webmasters who earn their living through the generosity of their readers. They're nice fellas, of course, but they look like they sleep in their cars.

Look what happened to Trink.

I don't want to spend my days waiting for the "hot" bus with holes in my underpants.

Come what may, I'll still be launching a new AdSense-funded site this summer but I'd love to keep Mango Sauce going - both for my own enjoyment and the viewing pleasure of 100,000 handsum readers plus two ugly ones.

I want go with you for free!

It doesn't matter much what system you use - if you have allot of traffic you will always have that small percentage of people clicking on ads. Just start trying different systems and see what fits.

The guy who told you he reads Mangosauce just for the humour probably also tells his wife he reads Playboy just for the articles.

No doubt mangosauce is one of the funniest and most entertaining sites I've ever come across with lots of different articles to read, most guaranteed to give a chuckle if not a belly laugh.

But nevertheless it is largely the "subject matter" typical at mangosauce that first grabs readers' interest in the stories. The added bonus of having a damn good laugh then keeps 'em coming back for more.

I'm dismayed to read that "come what may" you'll be creating an AdSense agreeable site soon. Clearly you intend to avoid any topic that may even vaguely be construed by AdSense as being offensive. That doesn't leave much does it?

Sheesh, your main asset at the moment is the mangosauce readership which has been predicated on the site's existing style and content. Use it or lose it! Don't expect that your readership will follow you to a new website that's fit to be sponsored by Disney. Anyway, you'll become a nervous wreck self-censoring yourself just to keep AdSense happy, all for rapidly diminishing returns from a site that few will care to visit.

Couldn't you just tell AdSense to "stick it", cut out the middle man, then aggressively market your site's (current) popularity directly to each-and-every Thai business you can lay your hands on that has a website languishing somewhere in cyberspace?

It would be a damn shame if the petty-minded prudery of one anonymous clerk in California was all it takes to shut you down.

I've been enjoying Mango Sauce for a long time, and would be very sorry to see you close.

I discovered mangosauce only a few months ago and i really enjoy reading the articles even though i am a women believe it or not!
Good luck David, i really think you're a great writer!

Common Sense says:

David,
Did you ever/or do you still plan to launch that new site you were talking of.

Hi Common Sense

No. I decided that Mango Sauce without the sauce would be about as appealing as Chang Light.
